Information for Pigeon Forge and This weekend Tournament

Wrestling Parents...

The upcoming days will be fast-paced and exciting for our team and their families...

On Saturday we will be hosting the Buccaneer Invitational, which is an exciting and important event for our program and participants. You should be receiving information and requests for assistance/volunteers for this event from Renay Melton & Cindy Bolton.

The next major event is the Smokey Mountain Duals. The Duals are held at Pigeon Forge High School on December 22 & 23rd. Below you will find a team schedule along with the associated financial details. I hope this information helps you to better understand this event and how things will work for the wrestlers.

The meal and activity schedule requires a financial obligation of $72.00 per wrestler.
Wrestlers Lodging, as well as Vehicle Rental and Fuel expense will be paid from team funds.  This fee DOES NOT cover beverages, snacks, and/or souvenirs while traveling, at the tournament site, or other times. Monies for these items should be given directly to your wrestler prior to departure. You may also want to consider that many wrestlers want to purchase a tournament logo t-shirt which usually cost $15.00 to $25.00.

I will be collecting the basic $72.00 for each participating wrestler beginning immediately through Saturday at the Beech Invitational. We ask that every wrestler submit this amount regardless of family attendance.  The money for each meal and activity will be redistributed at the appropriate time...this will ensure that each participant has the basics covered, it alleviates the difficulty of selecting restaurants and activities without full knowledge of each students available funds, and prevents other families from feeling obligated to cover the expenses of additional children.

If your family desires lodging in the team hotel, and you have not yet confirmed your room requirements with me, please do so immediately as I am in the process of finalizing accommodations.

-Luggage to Rooms
-Assemble in Hotel Lobby for Downtown Gatlinburg Outing approx 5:00pm EST -Dinner while in Gatlinburg - ($12.00) - There will be other activities, yet to be determined, during this outing ($20.00). Parent and families are welcome to come along.
-Return to Pigeon Forge Hotel approx 8:30pm EST
-Lights Out 10:00pm EST

-Assemble in Hotel Lobby at 7:30am EST SHARP - Travel to Tournament Venue for Weigh-Ins
-Return to Hotel for Continental Breakfast
-Back to Venue for Tournament
-Wrestling Begins at 9:00am EST
-Lunch at Tournament Site ($8.00)
-Team to Hotel for Showers Following 5 match day
-Assemble in Lobby for Team Dinner (Parents & Families Welcome) - Time To Be Determined (12.00)
-Return to Hotel for Swimming, Board Games, Cards, Etc.
-Lights Out 10:00pm EST

Thursday Dec. 23, 2010

-Assemble in Hotel Lobby at 7:30am EST SHARP - Travel to Tournament Venue for Weigh-Ins
-Return to Hotel for Continental Breakfast
-Back to Venue for Tournament
